Autumn in Seoul – The magical Nami Island

What is the first thing that pops to your mind when someone mentioned South Korea? Mine is Nami Island. Of all the blogs that I’ve read while preparing our itinerary, Namiseom is the most recommended, endorsed and applauded. It’s arguably the most popular romantic destination for tourists and locals. Be still my autumn-starved heart as Nami is one of the must-see fall foliage destinations. 😀

To avoid the horde of tourist a.k.a. for a more peaceful photo-op, we woke up early as the travel to Nami Island is roughly 1 hour and 30 mins from Hongdae (our home away from home in Seoul). Here’s how we’ve reached Nami via subway following the directions from our ever-reliable app – Seoul Mapway.

  1. From Hongik University Station – we took the Gyeongui Jungang Line towards Sangbong.
  2. From Sangbong Station – we transferred to Gyeongchun Line towards Gapyeong.
  3. From Gapyeong Station – you can either take the shuttle bus (lemme save you the trouble and attach here the shuttle bus timetable. Your welcome!) Or you can take a taxi and tell the driver “ Naminara euro ga juseyo” and the driver will take you to Gapyeong Wharf.
  4. From Gapyeong Wharf – there are two ways to get to Nami Island, Zipwire and Ferry. We prefer the latter as we cannot afford to freeze our asses off while on the Zipwire. LOLs.

Admission Fees: 8,000 won for foreigners and 10,000 won for locals.

I’m such an autumn person. Give me a quiet, cozy spot with a simple view of gorgeous trees and colorful leaves and a warm cup of coffee and I will be in all my glory. (Comes spring then I will transform into a spring person. LOL.)

Annyeong Namiseom!!!

Nami Island is so stunning these photos wasn’t able to give it justice. Though when we visited, most of the leaves have already fallen, nevertheless, the island is still magnificent if not magical. My sister and I have made a pact to return with the whole family on springtime. Petite France on my upcoming post. Till then.:)

All photos were taken by me and my sister Feb using our iPhone 7 and Canon EOS 1000D.

  1. […] NAMISEOM ISLAND 남이섬 종합휴양지 Nature at its finest. This place is a treasure. The mountains, the lake, the bare trees, the smell, the feels, every single thing. I will run out of adjectives to describe this place. It’s a picture or a place rather that worth a thousand words. It’s healing. It’s amazing. (I can’t get enough, lol) Full article and more photos here. […]
