I’m taking a quick break from my usual raving and jabbering about everything Seoul. Like very quick I’ll get back to it after lunch break, LOL. So the sister and I have met with the BFF last weekend (I guess we have the same BFF) to catch up over coffee. There’s nothing to talk about those two but I have a lot to say or to show rather about our meet-up place, Souk Madinat Jumeirah. 🙂 Living in Dubai for almost seven years doesn’t make me immunized from its charm and grandeur.
Souk means Arabic Market, Souk Madinat is sort of a modern take on a traditional Arabic Market. It is located between five star hotels and overlooking Burj Al Arab – The world’s most luxurious hotel. You can reach the place via Metro and Bus, here’s how.
- From Mall of the Emirates Metro Station, take the exit towards the Mall to the Bus stop right below the station.
- Take Bus number 81 and get down to Burj Al Arab Hotel stop.
- Cross the road and you’ll see this:
There are lots of stalls inside where you can buy Arabic keepsakes.
The souk also takes pride with their generous selection of Restaurants and Café’s. From indoor sitting Italian and Arabic Restaurants to Al Fresco dining Thai Restaurants.
Our choice of Café for the afternoon tête-à-tête is Costa Coffee, it has outside seating that overlooks the waterway and that gorgeous skyscraper.
Traditional Arabian style wooden boat called Abra. You can take the Abra Tour to navigate the waterways around the Souk.
You can actually walk from the Souk to the beach and marvel in these amazing sights.
Well, there you go folks. I’ll be back with more of Dubai on my next recess. 😛 Now back to the regular programming.
