You know that feeling you get after vacation when you’re just so happy to get back to reality? I don’t either. LOL. I just can’t move on from our fabulous escapade, even when I’m busy at work, I would still find myself pondering about anything Seoul. The light breeze, colorful leaves, bare trees, the lovely autumn weather.
Looking back, I’ve realized that our trip was actually laid-back, except those days that we’ve spent outside Seoul, the sister and I are pretty much sitting somewhere, looking at all the people walking in urgency, at all the girls with one too many shopping bags, at all the couples that are too in love to care about their surroundings. Seeing a bit of ourselves in everyone while breathing the crisp autumn air, is the most calming feeling one can get. Okay, that turns out to be dramatic LOL, what I wanted to write about are the finest places in Seoul we recommend for people-watching. 😛
First in our list is Sinsadong Garosu-gil Road, this road is golden — literally and figuratively. Garosu-gil means tree-lined street, this area is adorned with gingko trees, which leaves turn yellow every autumn.
Directions Subway : Line 3, exit 5 of Apgujeong station, exit 8 of Sinsa station.
Garosugil is the number one spot for fashion, even the pedestrians who pass by are well-dressed and oh-so-chic. This area is also a popular place for cosmetics shopping and cosmetic surgeries, like it’s a normal thing here to see people walking with a plaster in their noses or even a bandage covering half of their faces. Awesome and golden. 🙂
Next is Apgujeong Rodeo Street.
Before Sinsadong Garosu-gil Road happened, this was the “it” hangout place for people who’s into luxury and fashion. Rodeo Street has a wide range of fashion-related shops such as various clothing stores, shoe shops, accessory shops, and luxury brand discount stores at every corner.
Directions Subway: Apgujeong Station (Seoul Subway Line 3), Exit 2.
For those who are into K-pop this street is absolutely golden, here you can find Hallyu K-Star Road and entertainment agencies such as SM, JYP and FNC. Here are random photos from the road.
Being into K-pop ourselves (just a little, not that much LOL) in a quest to meet an idol, we’ve spent quite some time finding these agencies. Ill-fated, we’ve never seen any idols, even tip of their hair is nowhere to be found. Tough-luck, perhaps we’ve hit the road too early. Hmm.
And since we’re already k-poppin, let me include SM Town in Coex Mall. Expect this place to be crowded, there’s always a chockfull of fans hanging out at SUM Café.
Directions Subway: Samseong Station (Seoul Subway Line 2), Exit 5 or 6. Enter COEX Mall through the connecting passageway.
We went here to get presents for our friend (Shout-out to Aane chinggu! hope you’re reading this. haha!) Please be warned as these photos are KPOP heavy. 🙂
Thats about it. More on Seoul streets and food on my next posts.
Till then. 🙂
